Rugs are available in variety of beautiful designs and shapes. They are very easy to maintain and clean. Regular rug’s vacuuming removes dirt from their fiber and gives fresh looks and ever lasting life. Mostly area rugs need once a week cleaning while areas with lot of active and messy use may need of daily cleaning. Maintenance and cleaning of your wool’s hand made rugs is comparatively easy than synthetic and machine made carpets. Wool’s exclusive and complex fiber structure release soil up to 25% more gently than artificial rugs. Its scaly outer structure keeps soil on the outer surface from where vacuum can easily clean it. There is nothing worse than seeing your expensive rug with dirty spots on it. Removal of spots and spills can be more critical and crucial area of rug’s cleaning and maintenance.
When any kind of liquid spills on it then you must clean it immediately with some proper cleaner. If you don’t do so then get ready to face a strong spot for cleaning. A minor spill can usually be cleaned with a clean cloth and some clear dish washing detergent. There are numerous rug cleaning solutions available at your local department or hardware store. Using any bleach to clean your carpets is very risky given the type of fiber that is normally used in them. You could spoil the design on animal print carpets design or at least fade it. There are many safer products are available than bleach that you could use.
When you vacuum your rug then never scrub it. Just act in a gentle way and in the piles direction. If there is spill of any kind of liquid then first of all try to absorb it as much as you can with a clean towel or cloth and change the cloth when you needed till then the more liquid is coming out. Don’t ever leave anything heavy on the wet pile. It may crush the pile badly and can make spots on it. Don’t use foam cleaner or other chemical cleaner ever. Always use manufacturer recommended cleaner.
